I collaborated with a number of brands from the Unrest Autumn Winter 22-23 cohort, including Labre's Hope (fighting homelessness through ethically made soap) Indie Hair (refillable haircare, sustainable without sacrifice) and D*MN GOOD (previously Raw Bake Station) to craft beautiful brand manifestos. Unrest is an accelerator programme supporting mission-driven entrepreneurs to make a global impact. Unrest is based in Uncommon’s London office.
LABRE’S HOPE
The opposite of fear is hope.
And hope is all we have,
In these times of darkness and desperation.
For some, an act of self-care is lighting a candle
They find hope, flickering in the candlelight
Or in the scent of essential oils, in a long, hot bath.
Soapy lather provides nourishment,
For the body, mind and soul.
For others, this simple act of self-care is difficult to imagine.
So how about a soap, a candle, and a brand that provides hope?
For a better future and reassurance
At the end of a long day,
Or that there WILL be long days ahead
Full of work,
Full of joy,
Full of nourishment for the mind, body and soul
And full of hope,
Which we can spread,
Slowly
And surely
Until systematic change comes,
And we can see that it all started
With that flicker, with that lather, of hope.

We’re done with punishing diet culture
Over fake body positivity
And fed up of restrictive food labels
We’ve made our own world of good vibes
Where we bend the rules of healthy eating
With our savoury or sweet treats
They’re tasty AF and nutritious as hell
In our land, there’s no judgement
You’re free to do as you please
We’re all about guilty simple pleasures
So come for the damn good snacks
And stay for the feels.
